Getting to Jaipur
Jaipur is served by Jaipur International Airport (JAI), with domestic connections to Delhi, Mumbai and other major Indian cities. Most international travelers fly into Delhi first, then continue to Jaipur — a 45-minute domestic flight, a roughly 4.5-hour train journey, or a 5-hour private car transfer along the Delhi-Jaipur highway. Jaipur is also the natural third stop on a classic Golden Triangle itinerary, following Delhi and Agra.
When to Visit Jaipur
October to March is Jaipur's most comfortable season, with daytime temperatures typically between 15-30°C — ideal for walking the forts and old city bazaars. April to June brings extreme heat, often exceeding 40°C, making midday sightseeing genuinely difficult. July to September is the monsoon: periodic heavy rain, but noticeably fewer crowds and lower hotel rates for travelers willing to work around the weather.

Still a partial residence of Jaipur's royal family, this palace complex combines Rajput and Mughal architecture, with courtyards, museums and armories open to visitors.

Perched on the Aravalli hills above the city, this fort is less about interior sightseeing and more about the sunset view over Jaipur it offers.
What Makes Jaipur Different
Jaipur earned its "Pink City" name in 1876, when the old city was painted a terracotta-pink shade to welcome the Prince of Wales — a tradition the city has maintained ever since, giving the old city walls a consistent, unmistakable color found nowhere else in Rajasthan.
City Palace is unusual among India's royal palaces in that it's still a partial residence of Jaipur's royal family, not purely a museum — you're walking through a home with centuries of continuous history, not just a preserved relic.
Every itinerary here is built around comfort, meaningful access and pacing that allows each setting to breathe, rather than rushing between checklist stops.
