Start before sunrise. A private vehicle takes you to the balloon launch site, where you and your partner rise above Jaipur as the city wakes below — Amber Fort glowing golden, the Aravalli hills turning pink, tiny villages dotting the landscape. After breakfast, depart for Pushkar, a sacred town built around a holy lake unlike anywhere else in India. En route, stop at Chand Baori — one of the most beautiful step wells in the world with 3,500 steps descending 13 stories. In Pushkar, walk hand in hand along the ancient ghats of Pushkar Lake at golden hour, visit the world's only Brahma Temple, and take the ropeway up to Savitri Temple for panoramic views over the town. After breakfast, drive to Jodhpur — Rajasthan's most dramatic city, painted entirely in shades of blue beneath the greatest fort in the state. Your guide walks you through seven successive gateways of the majestic Mehrangarh Fort into a succession of royal apartments, mirror halls and armories. The view from the ramparts over the blue city below is Rajasthan's most dramatic panorama. Visit Jaswant Thada — a white marble memorial beside a serene lake. After breakfast, drive across the golden Thar Desert towards Jaisalmer. Walk the narrow lanes of UNESCO-listed Jaisalmer Fort — a living city where 3,000 people still live within ancient walls — and explore Patwon Ki Haveli, the most ornately carved merchant mansion in Rajasthan. In the late afternoon, drive to Sam Sand Dunes for your desert camp experience. A private camel ride through the dunes as the sun sets. Lantern-lit pathways back to your luxury tent.
