Getting to Ranthambore
Ranthambore's nearest access point is Sawai Madhopur, which has its own railway station with direct trains from Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai, plus a road connection roughly 3.5-4 hours from Jaipur. There's no airport at Ranthambore itself — the nearest is Jaipur, making a Jaipur-Ranthambore combination the natural way most travelers experience it, rather than a standalone flight destination.
When to Visit Ranthambore
Unlike Rajasthan's cities, Ranthambore National Park is genuinely closed for part of the year — core safari zones shut for the July-September monsoon, with only some buffer zones remaining open. October to February brings pleasant weather (8-25°C) and comfortable safaris, good for families and birdwatching. Counterintuitively, April to June — despite the heat — actually offers the highest tiger-sighting probability of the year, since animals gather around the park's remaining water sources; afternoon safaris in that heat can be exhausting, but sightings are more likely.

Ranthambore National Park→ Read more
Spread over roughly 1,334 square kilometers, one of India's largest and most renowned tiger reserves — home to Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, marsh crocodiles and hundreds of bird species. Declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and brought under Project Tiger in 1973.
Ranthambore Fort→ Read more
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Rajasthan's oldest hill forts, built in the 10th century inside the park itself. Its ramparts offer panoramic views over the surrounding forest and lakes, and it's home to an active Ganesh temple.
Padam Talao & Jogi Mahal→ Read more
The park's most iconic lake and the ruined hunting lodge beside it, both sitting in Zone 3 — one of the highest tiger-sighting zones in the park, thanks to tigers regularly passing through to drink and cool off.
The 10 Safari Zones→ Read more
Ranthambore is divided into ten numbered safari zones, each with its own landscape and tiger-sighting odds — zones 1-6 sit closest to the core forest and lakes and generally offer the best chances, while outer zones are quieter but less predictable.

Jeep & Canter Safari→ Read more
The core Ranthambore experience: a guided jeep (6-seater, more flexible) or canter (20-seater, more affordable) safari through the park's forest tracks, usually run as separate morning and afternoon sessions.
What Makes Ranthambore Different
Ranthambore was once the private hunting ground of Jaipur's royal family, not originally a public park — its transformation into a protected tiger reserve under Project Tiger in 1973 is part of a genuine conservation turnaround, not just a marketing story.
It's one of the few places in India — and the world — where wild tigers can regularly be seen in daylight, rather than only glimpsed at dusk or via camera traps.
Every safari we arrange is planned around your dates and zone preferences in advance, since zone allocation genuinely affects your odds and can't be left to chance on arrival.
